Elisha Justice Update

Jody Demling of the Louisville Courier Journal recently wrote the following on Elisha:

One of the state of Kentucky's top uncommitted prospects from the Class of 2010 is Shelby Valley High School guard Elisha Justice, who ran with the Derek Smith All-Stars this summer.

The 5-foot-11 Justice has one offer and said he feels like his play this past spring and summer opened a few more doors with some colleges.

"We had a lot of coaches at our games," Justice said. "I gave it everything I had in each and every game. I still feel like I could have played better, my shot wasn't always there.

"I overall, I felt like I had a pretty good summer."

Justice has a scholarship offer from Jacksonville University. He said other schools that are showing the most interest are Eastern Kentucky, Radford, Marshall and Navy.

Notes:

- Elisha is no stranger to success and winning. He has led his Shelby Valley team to the state tournament 2 of the 3 years that he's been playing varsity basketball and his team should return to Rupp this year as well. If he wins the 15th region POY this coming year, it will be his 3rd in a row.

- One of the biggest knocks on him is his size. At 5'111 170 lbs, not many college coaches are really looking at him hard. He is no doubt a D1 talent, but how high he is, is still left to be seen.

- I think he'd fit in very well with a low major D1 school and be able to excel early on. Either way, the kid will have his education payed for.

- It will be tough to really get a take on just how much Elisha improves throughout the high school season since his team plays in a rather weak region, but one of the bigger games on Shelby Valley's schedule is against Christian Co. Christian Co returns 4 starters from last season's 2nd region championship team and could potentially be a top 5 team with what they return. Look for Elisha to use this game as a time to shine and prove himself.
