From Louisville Courier Journal's Jody Demling:
One of the Scott County High School standouts that sometimes doesn't get the notice- because the Cardinals have a ton of talent- is shooter Austin Flannery.
The 6-foot-3, 185 lb FLannery had a solid summer for the Shining Stars-Mcfarland team that finished 46-9. He played his best in events at Morgantown, WV. , the Hoopfest in Louisville, and also at Nationals in Orlando.
Flannery has always been tabbed as one of the state's top shooters. He's still one of the best in the Bluegrass State but he's added some bulk and stength and become a better and more versatile all around player.
And the colleges have started to take notice.
West Point, Air Force, and Wright State are Division I schools that have inquired.
A ton of Division II schools are interested. He has an official visit set up Sept. 19 to Walsh University in Canton, Ohio, while Saint Anslem College in New Hampshire is also likely to get a visit from Flannery. West Liberty, Gannon, Bellarmine, Northern Kentucky, Berry, and Lynchburg are the other schools showing interest.
