As done with the class of 2011, the Louisville Courier Journal and Jody Demling also ranked the class of 2012. Heading the class is Lexcath star Jaylen Beckham (photo, left). Beckham is the only player in the class of 2012 that has garnered enough attention to land him in several national top 100 and top 150 rankings. Here is how the list looked:
1. 6'0 Jaylen Beckham (Lexcath): A lot of the bigger schools have started to call and he's only going to get better as he matures and fills out.
2. 6'4 Tamron Manning (Scott Co): The best and most versatile player in a very deep and strong class at Scott Co.
3. 6'1 Isaiah Ivey (Scott Co): Will become more of a key player on the varsity this season with the Cardinals and will get better and better. Shows flashes of "wow."
4. 6'6 Mike Terry (Fairview): Played at Rose Hill last season and led the Royals in scoring. Was hurt some this summer but college coaches love his game.
5. 6'1 Jordan Brewer (LaRue Co): The son of former University of Louisville player James "Boo" Brewer", the youngster has the talent and the swagger.
6. 6'1 Taylor Barnette (Lexington Christian): Isn't going to "wow" you by being flasy, but he's as solid as they come and really played well this summer.
7. 6'0 Desmond Dorsey (Jeffersontown): Dorsey didn't play as well as a freshman, but he still has the ability to be a top-of-the-line player in this class.
8. 6'0 Charles Foster (Trinity): MAde huge strides this summer and has had some inquiries from some big time schools like Xavier, Auburn, Oregon St, and Oklahoma St.
9. 6'4 Daniel Ross (Jeffersontown): A bruising force in the middle.
10. 6'8 Devan Rowan (North Oldham): Big and physical player had a great summer with the Derek Smith All Stars and is getting stronger.
11. 6'1 Tanner Broughton (Knox Central)
12. 5'11 DeVante Clarkson (Elizabethtown)
13. 6'8 LeMon Gregory (Muhlenberg)
14. 6'4 B.J Combs (Hazard)
15. 5'7 Anthony Myrkes (Laurel Co)
16. 6'6 Matt Day (Buckhorn)
17. 6'0 Ryan Whetzel (Ashland)
18. 5'11 Kyle Bush (Rosehill)- Not sure if he's there or elsewhere?
19. 6'1 Troy Saxton (Trinity)
20. 6'3 Nathaniel Dieudonne (Trinity)
